The Hawks released Grant Winstrom to make room for the Deon Grant. Winstrom was signed to a huge contract three years ago and his time has been alright but plagued with injuries. With the new signing of Kerney, Winstrom was not needed. The Hawks will still have to pay him the rest of his garunteed cash. He will count $2.3 million against Seattle's 2007 cap and $4.7 million in 2008.
