Yes, I agree with you Proffessor... The Rams defense has improved but I do not think it has improved enough to where it can handle the Cardinals and that High Powered offense... They will most likely finish 3rd in that division behind the Seahawks and the Cardinals...

I agree Chris....They do have an improved defense but they will finish 3rd in the division with the Seahawks defense on top of the division.

I failed to mention that I am a strong Seahawks fan since 1983.

the cards do have some players on defense, i.e. dansby and rolle, I think that the offense is going to take some time to come together figuring out the balance of the talent disbursement with edge and the WR's, plus warner is inevitably going to get hurt, so they will prolly have a young QB and that always takes time to get through the growing pains.

That young QB also happens to be Matt Leinart, who would be more than capable of starting in that offense right now if he had to. A Warner injury early on might actually help the Cards rather than hurt them...

it is still the nfl and the nfl is way faster and a completely different game and ball than college, he is the most pro ready of any college QB coming out, but there will almost certainly be a learning phase when he first comes in.

Yes of course. However, that phase should be far less in Leinart's case than that of Young, Cutler, or even Aaron Rodgers for that matter. As you said, he is the most pro ready QB, and he is in an offense and scheme that is as close to USC's as any NFL team can get. Power runner, two real solid WRs, decent line and TE. I fully believe that if (when?) Warner goes down or straight gets benched, Leinart can come in and make a late push, see Roethlisberger. This is the year Seattle actually gets some competition.

all good points storm, however the opposition is the best of the best from college and he certainly isn't game ready for the speed of the game. the offense is similar but the plays are different, terminology and gameplans. He will need a year of playing time to adjust.

Last year almost everyone counted out the patriots because all the injuries that plagued the team. The patriots were still able to make the play-offs. I believe the Rams are going to fly under everyone's radars this season because of how the Rams performed last year. The Rams lost many close games that may of been swayed if it wasn't for the large amount of injuries. The Rams also drafted at some postitions that had been weak in the past. If it wasn't for all the injuries and poor coaching last year the Ram's would of at least been .500 Nevertheless, the west lays out like this:
Seahawks
Rams
Cardinals
49er's
