KIRKLAND - The way Marcus Trufant handles himself off the field, you would think he’s better suited to play free safety for the Seattle Seahawks as opposed to cornerback.
All the while, his hometown of Tacoma has been the beneficiary of his ubiquitous nature, if only because he’s, well, everywhere.
You’ll find him at McCarver Elementary School in the Tacoma hilltop area, speaking to the children about the importance of education and why school should be their primary focus before they get into sports.
The next week the Washington State University product could be at his high school alma mater - Tacoma’s Wilson High School – hosting a day-long carnival of events.
Somewhere along the way, he’ll show up Cheney Stadium signing autographs before the Tacoma Rainiers’ Triple-A baseball game.
