Default No 12th man

I heard this on the radio so I dont know how much truth is behind it but they were saying that Texas A&M has filled papers in court to stop the Seatlle Seahawks form useing the the phrase "12th Man" because it is thier trademark phrase.

I also heard that. What A&M doesn't realize is that Seattle's been using it for over 15 years now, and in fact retired a #12 jersey in 1998 on behalf of their fans. Now that it's successful and known around the country though, they want to stop it. If they were upset about it, they should have said something back when Seattle began using it. I doubt the lawsuit will stand.

If the hawks have been using it that long I doubt it will either.

Here is a link with more info. It is a neat story behind the A&M use of the slogan. I can see why the school is upset and would want them to win, I just dont think of the Seahawks when I here it. But haveing them use it so long before you complain about it does not help your case.

don't a lot of teams use that phrase? i thought more than just the Seahawks had retired number 12 for that reason, but i could be wrong.
