1. Great is a way over used term, lets stop calling everybody and his brother great, good is reserved for those guys that don't quite deserve great but don't deserve average either
2. O - line is an easy place to replace people, so go after the talent positions first!

I am gonna present two arguments to this statement. First, Bernard is a DT, not an OL. Second, there's a difference between an average O-Line and a Seattle O-Line. You can replace the guys Dallas or Arizona or the Giants have very easily with guys that are just as talented. You cannot just replace Seattle's O-Line with all new guys and expect get another shot at the Super Bowl next year. That will never happen. Let's make a comparitive example with the Chiefs, they also have a very good O-Line and an overrated QB. Do you think Green and Johnson would have won more than six games on any other team? I highly doubt it. The lack of any statistics to judge talent makes it very easy to underestimate the need for a good O-Line, but a team's success can be completely dependent on it.
I find it very strange that the Hawks decided not to franchise Bernard. I guess they feel that they don't need to, and can work out a deal in the upcoming days.
After reading into it more, IMO the most surprising move was not to franchise tag Hutch. The transition tag allows a team to toss him an offer and if Seattle can not match, then they receive nothing in return, I don't agree with that. IMO there's sure to be a team that's going to throw him an offer, now how much and from who remains to be seen but with a transition tag you can bet a team like Zona or any team with money for that matter can toss him top dollar and Seattle has to match it or lose him and get nothing back, I don't like that.
The only reason that I would see that would make them use the transition tag on Hutchitson, is if they very really close to a deal with him. What really amazes me, is them not locking up Bernard with the franchise tag. Really, a wasted day in my opinion by the Seahawks front office.
While I like Bernard and think he is a good player and could get better he I wouldn't be worth top 3 DT $$ IMO and isn't even the best DT on your team. Giving him that kind of money would hit you hard in the cap then would prompt Tubbs to start feeling a bit underpaid.
Well, SA has recently stated that he wants $22 million guaranteed money, and an $80 million deal. This would be the biggest RB contract in league history. No way is he worth that much money.
No way he'll get that much money from anyone. We might see him not in a uni next year if dosen't come down a bit. How long does he want it to be?
