Seattle Seahawks news 10/30
Seahawks lose on road in a puzzler
There is a way to hold on to the ball for two-thirds of the game, move it nearly 500 yards, get one's best player in the end zone four times and still nearly lose the game.
Just ask Kansas City.
At the end of its 35-28 victory Sunday over the depleted Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City was feeling more lucky than good, more grateful than boastful.

Seahawks Notebook: One small victory in big loss
When does the gnat get the best of the beast?
When a defensive end picks off a tipped pass and has flashbacks to his days as a peewee league running back.

Hawks find new weapon in Herndon
The snap was perfect, the hold was horrendous and Kelly Herndon was suddenly running 61 yards for a badly needed touchdown.
The Seattle Seahawks were back in the game Sunday at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium. Herndon’s fumble return cut the Hawks’ deficit to six points late in the third quarter, a key play in a game filled with them.
“The momentum switched,” Seattle receiver Deion Branch said.

Defense sinks to the occasion
None other than Mike Holmgren set up the story line for the Seahawks last week.
The Kansas City game wasn't about backup quarterback Seneca Wallace making his first NFL start. It was, he said, about 21 other guys stepping up and doing their jobs well so the loss of Matt Hasselbeck for at least three weeks wouldn't cripple a season that began with such promise.

Victory out of their grasp
Somehow, the Seahawks took a one-point lead with 6 minutes, 30 seconds left in the fourth quarter.
But the way they were playing defense, it wasn't going to hold up. And it didn't.
The Kansas City Chiefs drove 80 or more yards twice in the second half, made a defensive stand when they needed it, and survived their own mistakes and three momentum-swinging plays by the Seahawks in the second half for a 35-28 victory Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium.

Man, Seneca was putting on a show. But, what's up with our D. We have the potential to be awesome, but what is happening. I came to the conclusion that the Hawks need to each other to win. They feed off of each other's energy. Like a chain, when there is one link that is weak, the whole chain suffers. I feel that is what is happening with the Hawks right now.

I agree. When the offense suffers the defense suffers.
