Jim Mora has now officially joined as assistant HC and DB coach. This is sweet. When you make it to the Championship with Vick as your QB, you have to be a genius.

Yes. He blocked for them while attending USC.

I started a seahawks draft thread in the draft forum, feel free to make some comments in there, we are probably the only people that care, especially since we dont have a 1st.

Also Adam Schefter is reporting the former falcons coach Jim Mora is going to become our Assistant Head Coach/ Defensive Backs coach. I think its a great move

Don't have a clue about our draft needs. I would say OL/DL cuz the depth sucks there. If we lose Hamlin then we gotta get a FS. A corner would be a good late round pick, and same goes for QB.

Our D line is the smallest in the Nfl. We need to draft some large bodies.

agreed, although the best scenario is that Tubbs comes back healthy and improved

Ok, well then who do we replace on DL. Darby? Fisher? Bernard?

Bernard has made good sacks, I would like to see him stay in. If we replace anybody on the line it better be Darby.

Darby is good in rotation but not as an every down guy. I'd say Tubbs and Bernard with either a drafted DT rookie or a FA DT pick-up.

Moving on, our Offensive Line is like: Walter Jones, Tom Ashworth, Robbie Tobeck, Sean Locklear, and Chris Sims/Chris Spencer? Who do you feel is our weakest and what additions do you think we may add to the OL?

Well Tobeck retired, maybe you replaced him with Chris Gray. right now we have
LT:
Walter Jones
Tom Ashworth
LG:
Floyd Womack
Rob Sims
C:
Chris Spencer
RG:
Chris Gray
RT:
Sean Locklear
Ray Willis

I think we are set at Tackle, but obviously we need help at OG. Spencer is the clear cut starter, we will probably just sign some nobody FA to be his backup, another possibility is draft a guy that can play C and OG. I like Sims long term potential, and think he should be one of the starters. I hope Gray will come back next year so we have a year to develop his replacement. Womack is OK, but he is versatile so we might keep him, he is a FA with a good chance of not being back with us. So as of now (in my head) it is in order: Jones, Sims, Spencer, Gray, Locklear. All of which is pretty good long term except for Gray, we need to sign or draft an OG.
Eric Steinbach and Kris Dielman are intriguing top FA options, i would love to insert Dielman at LG, which allows us to put sims in at RG whenever Gray leaves. In the draft in the late 2nd we are looking at guys like Josh Beekman, Aaron Grubbs etc. who could be solid but really arent going to be immediate impact players any way you slice it. One option I like is drafting Kyle Young, who is technically a C but plays OG and OT too, and is built more like that latter at 6'5 330. Problem is he had character issues, sitting out most of his senior season because he was academically ineligible, Ruskell always gets high character guys, so i doubt we go there. However I like what he brings, he has versatility, could fill in for spencer if needed, but has the massive size to dominate in the run game.

P.S. when scrolling through this thread, it is extremely blue when combined with the already blue background.

As far as D-line, its a predicament, we have 5 capable players at DT in Darby, Bernard, Tubbs, Terrill, and Davis. I dont think anyone would care if Davis left, the coaches love Terrill, I doubt he goes. We NEED Tubbs, he is our only huge guy. Bernard is obviously staying. I wouldnt mind seeing Darby go, I know he is a high motor player and I love that and blah blah, but the truth is we cant stop the run well with a 280 pound DT, he is listed at 298 but i dont buy that for a second. He didnt impress me much this year. as a rule we are undersized, and that was the plan, have fast high motor guys, and then constantly rotate the 5 guys to keep them fresh. That makes sense, but when Tubbs and Terrill went on IR, we were left with 3 capable DTs, all of which were at or below 300 pounds. My ideal DT pair is Tubbs and Bernard, i think their talents compliment each other well. However having 2 of the same type guys together didnt work well. Maybe just having them back healthy will be enough, lets hope.
If we do draft or sign a guy, who goes? there is no way we carry 6 DTs, i would guess Davis is the first guy to go, and Darby or Terrill would be next in line. There are only a couple "huge" guys in the draft that we have access to (Alan Branch would be perfect but we kind of have a top 60 pick not a top 5 pick. ) Some possibilites would be Kareem Brown from Miami at 6'5 315, probably our 2nd round pick. After that Paul Soliai Utah 6'4 334, or Stanley Doughty South Carolina 6'1 331 could be mid-late round targets.
