I think he is past his prime, however still a solid contributor. He will be in on running downs, with Tapp spelling him alot in pass rush situations. He certainly is getting up there in terms of salary each year, i dont think anything will be done about it this year, but next year i wouldnt be surprised
I think it was a 14 mill signing bonus, so we have already paid 7 of that, i thought that if we cut him his remaning 7 would go on our cap next year? but i think i have heard prorated too, not sure. either way, its too early to cut him, but if he doesnt play well next year, i wouldnt be surprised to see him get cut, or asked to take a pay cut
The most pressing free-agent issue remains left guard Kris Dielman. The team has not spoken with Dielman's agent in more than two weeks, and it has been even longer since meaningful dialogue was shared.
Teammates have expressed pessimism regarding the possibility of Dielman staying and have said his loss would be greatly felt.
The market for Dielman will be fierce. Dallas, Miami, Seattle and Cleveland, among others, are expected to bid for his services.[/b]
Our contract negotiator/cap guy Mike Reinfeldt is now officially the Titans GM, good for him, slight loss for us though. Also Mora is being mentioned (along with everyone else and their mother) for SD gig
I just noticed something interesting also, every single one of our draft picks last year (Jennings 1, Tapp 2, Sims 4, Kirtman 5, Plackemier 7, Obomanu 7) were on the active roster at the end of the season, some of that (kirtman and obomanu) was due to injuries, but that is pretty impressive, i hope these guys continue to develop
Well my bet is we dont get steinbach, alot of teams want to sign him as a tackle, which means tackle money. I want Dielman or Dockery. Dockery could be the easiest to sign, he is an UFA and the redskins have no room to work with. However they always seem to sign guys anyways. If we get either of those guys to play LG, and then have sims/gray at RG, that would awesome. Dockery is huge at 6'6 345, and is a terrific run blocker, a classic mauler, will move you with his size. he isnt great in pass protection, but is decent. Dielman is more well rounded, he is solid in both pass and run, but not "elite" in either. He seems more like a ruskell type character wise.
Despite being great in run blocking, Dockery isnt great in space/pulling.
reports are the teammates dont expect Dielman to be back, but also that he wants a ton of money
PFT (take it for what its worth) is reporting that Damien Woody will be cut soon from the Lions. He is intriguing as a C and an OG, i doubt we would sign him because of character issues, but the one good thing it does is crowd the market a little more, which might mean we dont have to pay as much for a guard. Of course this is only a rumor
Seahawks re-sign LS Rackley

LS Derek Rackley has apparently re-signed for the 2007 season. Looks like he got a one-year deal with a $720,000 base salary and $40,000 signing bonus. I hope to confirm this tomorrow. The Hawks signed Rackley last season after losing J.P. Darche to a hip injury. Rackley was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent. Darche is also scheduled to become a UFA. The $40,000 bonus isn't enough to guarantee a roster spot in today's NFL, but it's better than not receiving anything up front.
