Edge may have been paid, but it isn't like he just went to a team that looked doomed. That offense looked like it just needed a solid RB to be dominating, and he probably saw an opportunity to get paid and be successful. I am sure most players who sign believe they are going into a situation with an opportunity to succeed. Hell, front offices are paid a lot of money to sell their franchise.

While you're right about Emmitt not putting up 1,000 rushing yards, you're wrong about his highest yardage output with the Cardinals, as he had over 900 rushing yards in 2004... Pretty close to 1k (And he missed a game).

He only had 250 rushing yards in 2003.
