I think a lot of what happens with Alexander is going to depend on what happens with the CBA negotiations. If 2007 is going to be an uncapped year, he may just sign a one year contract somewhere, and try to strike it rich in 2007. If I had to put my money on it now, I would say assuming there is a salary cap, he is going to leave Seattle.

I was thinking they were just going to let him test the market a bit to see what he gets. He really sounds like he wants to be there and there's no line anywhere for negotiations for them to determine his real worth. I don't really think any other team will pay him higher then what Seattle will, JMO.

An interesting development in the story now, is going to be whether or not that CBA gets signed. As of right now, they have stopped negotiations, saying they are too far apart, which only furthers the possibility of an uncapped 2007, which would lead to huge paydays for players like Alexander...

From what I read the agreement last through the 2007 season, so that would make it cap less in 2008.

It just kills me though after a year and a half they should have something by now.

The contract actually expires in 2008, but there would be an uncapped year in 2007 under the current deal...
