KIRKLAND -- Don't count on Shaun Alexander playing in the Seahawks' game against the Rams in St. Louis on Sunday. Coach Mike Holmgren isn't.
Alexander will miss a third consecutive game because of the sprained left knee the Seahawks' leading rusher suffered in the Week 9 loss at Cleveland, Holmgren said Wednesday during his weekly news conference.
Holmgren reiterated that Alexander will not return until he is able to practice all week. The most Alexander might do is some running on the side during practice.
"With his leg, that's how we're approaching it," Holmgren said.
In Alexander's absence, Maurice Morris will start against the Rams. Morris has run for 87 yards in each of the two games he has started for Alexander.
