8 years??? Is he durable enough to play 8 more years. But, on the other hand, it means that we have to pay less per year for him.

Finally Seattle got their heads out of their behinds and got him taken care of. Now he has to stay healthy and keep producing to earn that big of a contract.

Told you, this is basically a 3-4 year contract and the only thing guaranteed is the bonus. This IMO is a great move for Seattle and had to be done, he deserves every penny of it. They probably even saved money in the first couple years of the deal as well.

Congrats on getting this done for Seahawks fan! I didn't think it would happen, but it did, and I was wrong once again. The one thing you have to keep in mind though is that this whole deal could get thrown out the window depending on how the CBA talks proceed over the next year...

How would that change the deal now?

This could prompt a team to take a shot at Hutch now though, maybe Zona...

Well if there is no season in 2008, than his contract could be cut, or if a radically different salary cap system was instituted, changes might be made to the contract...

I wonder what they would do in the even of no season? Would that even count as a year on his deal or just sort of voided back to that year once it started?
