Rams sign free-agent cornerback Fakhir Brown to five-year deal

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- The St. Louis Rams signed free-agent cornerback Fakhir Brown to a five-year contract on Tuesday.

Brown played in 12 games for the New Orleans Saints in 2005, starting four. He had 31 tackles and six passes defended, along with four special teams tackles.

In six seasons, he has 202 tackles, three interceptions, 46 passes defended, four forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries. On special teams, Brown has 39 career tackles, two fumble recoveries and a blocked punt.

He spent the past four seasons with the Saints, starting 25 games. He began his career with San Diego in 1999. His best season was 2004, when he had 54 tackles and two interceptions.

Well, there defence does seem to be shaping up. I just hope they can keep it threw next year. Also Hopefully this guy is good?

they definitely picked up some guys on defense, but they also lost a bunc of guys on defense as well. and granted they picked up brown, but he hardly the answer at DB, they need some help there bad.

almost all of the Rams signings have been to upgrade the defense and it looks very good, but as ellis said Brown is not the answer.

Well he's a start to the problem, they haven't really had any CB since they let Bly go and Williams retired. If they can keep adding here and there and through the draft they will be much more improved from last year.
