With Rookies set to report to camp in just over 24 hours, the Vikes have yet to announce the signing of their last two contracts. First round pick Greenway and Second rounder Jackson are the only two that are left.

Jackson isn't a big deal (if he gets on the field this year, we are screwed anyway), but it would be nice to hear some news on Greenway; if he gets into camp he could be the starter on the weak side and allow Henderson to move back to the middle.

Vikings first-round pick Chad Greenway remained unsigned Wednesday morning but the linebacker made it clear he has no interest in being a late arrival to training camp. Rookies are scheduled to report Thursday.

“We’re trying to get it figured out,” said Greenway, reached on his cell phone Wednesday as he drove from South Dakota to the Twin Cities. “We really didn’t have any offers until the last 24 hours. I’ve been sweating it out. I’ve had nothing to say no or yes to. [The Vikings] got started a little late and they wanted to take care of their other picks. We’re hoping to get it done. I want nothing more than to be on time. I’m not looking to outdo the Vikings. I just want a fair deal and to get in on time.”

Greenway’s agent, Marvin Demoff, has not returned calls or e-mails and the Vikings refused to comment on the talks. Demoff is not believed to be in the Twin Cities.

Greenway pointed out San Diego has agreed to a deal with cornerback Antonio Cromartie, the 19th overall pick in the draft. Greenway was the 17th selection, meaning the market for picks in the late teens should start taking shape.

Sean Jensen and Don Seeholzer, of the Pioneer Press, report Minnesota Vikings first-round draft pick LB Chad Greenway has agreed to terms on a multiyear deal, a person close to the negotiations said. His agent, Marvin Demoff, was completing details of the contract with the team Wednesday night, July 26.
