Rams | Team reaches contract agreement with S. Davis

Jason Cole, of Yahoo Sports, reports the St. Louis Rams have reached a one-year contract agreement with free agent RB Stephen Davis (Panthers). The deal is expected to be finalized late Friday, Sept. 1, following Davis' arrival in St. Louis. The deal is expected to be worth $850,000, the veteran's minimum for a player of his tenure (10 years), with a maximum allowable signing bonus of $40,000. The key to the deal is that the Rams are apparently willing to guarantee half of the base salary, even if he is injured.

He might not get a lot of playing time in any situations until he picks up the O. Its a good pickup, but I would worry a LOT this week. SJ will get those oportunities unless hes hurt or has an off game.

I don't know why the rams signed him but i doubt they keep 5 running backs. I liked our back field with jackson,fisher,williams and russell.
