St. Louis Rams coach Scott Linehan has ruled QB Marc Bulger as out this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
Linehan said Bulger still is feeling some residual effects from the concussion that he suffered last Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks.
“Nothing too dramatic, but enough to where it’s not really wise to even consider playing him,’’ Linehan said.
Linehan said Bulger did not pass his neuropsych test that he took on Wednesday afternoon.
“It’s just too soon,’’ Linehan said of Bulger returning from the concussion. “We’ll do the same type of test on Monday, and if he clears that, there is no reason that he should be able to play next week.’’
Linehan said the nature of Bulger’s injury means the team has no way of knowing when he’ll be able to return.
“They just wait and see,’’ Linehan said. “Everybody is different. I’ve seen some that linger on, and I’ve seen some that last only a week or two.’’
Backup QB Gus Frerotte will start in place of Bulger. Brock Berlin, recently promoted from the practice squad, will serve as the backup quarterback.
