Default Torry Holt may go to Carolina after his contract expires

Quote:
Torry Holt raised eyebrows three weeks ago when he talked about reuniting with his brother Terrence — a safety for the Carolina Panthers — when the final two years of his St. Louis Rams contract were up.

"I wanted to just send in my resignation to the Rams and join him down here," Holt told Raleigh, N.C., television station WRAL with a laugh. "What better place to come and play football than in your home state?' "

Holt made the remarks at a charity golf tournament he and his brother held in North Carolina. Terrence signed as a free agent with Carolina earlier this offseason after spending the 2007 season with Arizona. To a degree, it was clear Holt was joking, particularly the remark about "resigning" from the Rams. But on Saturday, in his first comments to St. Louis reporters since the end of the 2007 season, it was clear that Holt is taking a realistic view about his future with the Rams.
Marvin Harrison should do the same thing lol. Return to his hometown and play football.

I just like how theres a trend lately of players leaving teams who really need them more than the team they sign with. Even if the USC WR once again isn't as great as everyone thought he'd be.... they still are better off than the Rams at WR with out Holt.

I guess the Rams figure to take the financial gain over the product they put on the field next season. IMO Holt is still a damn good wr in the league and the Rams won't find a replacement as soon as they think. Do they have plans to move on Chad Johnson that haven't been blown out of proportion yet by ESPN? Doubt it...

I can't see the Rams even thinking about making the Playoffs with out replacing Holt some how. Wasn't this guy mentioned by some as the MVP a year or two ago?
