Hey, I'm both new to this sport and this forum.
I'm a former sprinter and boxer who just started playing.
I look to learn as much as I can about the sport so I can constantly get better and contribute to victories for my team.
Like I said, I used to be a boxer and a sprinter. I put my spikes on the shelf because of a hamstring injury and started boxing a while ago. I thought boxing was my calling after that, but I think I was a little off.
A friend of mine used to play ball in Canada/USA, he was convinced that I would be better suited for the football field than in the amateur boxing ring where one credits skill and technique well over ferocity, strength and power.
My first day at football practise was literally the best day of my life, I have never had so much fun doing anything before.
I've been to 4 practises so far, and they're putting me into playing for the team in about three weeks I think, the first game of the season.
I need some more work on understanding the play, but I'm studying the playbook with my friend and such, so I'm getting the hang of it.
I've been put to play as a safety, and I'm really looking forward to my first game.
What are the key things I need to know about being a safety, you guys got any good tips on what I need to work on?
I got some footage of my plyometric training from my boxing days if anyone is interested. Even though my plyometric training is a bit different now, I think it's relavant.

I'm 179cm tall and 78kgs, finally gaining back some weight not having to cut down because of weight classes anymore.
