Hey Guys,

I'm Alex. Completely new to football. It's really embarrassing because I'm 17. My parents adopted me from Russia when I was ten, and they're always trash-talking sports, especially football. My dad played it in HS and I guess didn't have a good experience, so until recently I didn't have any interest in it. It is too late to start playing now? Obviously I guess I could never be a pro at it, but maybe just for fun. I'm going to go to a music college, which doesn't have a team, so I'm wondering if there are non-college football teams out there? I'm sorry for this long introduction post, I just really want to play football, and I'm pretty athletic, I just need some help.

Yeah, tons to learn... I don't really know where to begin. I suppose maybe if there are any books that you can recommend? And are there amateur leagues out there that I may be able to join sometime in the future?

I would check out local leagues to your area. check online for your area first. Also, if you are very new, you should watch as many games as you can and learn the rules.

I have, but it's only a few guys... not like a real team or anything.

well teams in your area prolly have age limits or something like that. You prolly won't make any squads without showing some talent, so just keep working on skills and learning the game and you never know
