View Poll Results: Refs should wear helmets?

after watching this happen in person, i think refs should, but what do you guys think? i mean they wear helmets in hockey. this happened in high school football, maybe it could happen in the nfl. the ref turned out to be alright, but suffered a concussion.

No I don't think so, it would be way too much of a burden for them. They just have to be more careful.

I voted yes. From some of the calls they make they might start getting bashed in the head...and rightfully so I might add.

I don't think so. It would restrict their vision IMO therefore causing more bad calls or missed calls. They haven't worn them for years and what all of a sudden they are in more dabger? Accidents happen and that is just part of the game. I feel for the guys when this happens but you can't safeguard everything that could happen.

That's exactly my reasoning. They just need to be really careful out there rather than getting in players ways. Making them wear helmets really would make it harder to officiate the game.
