I have posted on a FBF sister site ( Basketballboards) and they have something their I think would be a cool fit here. I remember we were discussing a while back a system for rating posts, but what they have over their is a thing called "Rep Power". What you do is that if someone makes an intelligent post you click an icon and it gives them Rep Points. I think this would play out very well here. Anyone agree?

I've seen that too, though I think that if someone posts totally ignorant stuff he should get points taken away too.
On the cell phone forum site that I moderate, we have the rep power feature. It is actually a really nice feature. You can give good or bad rep to a member. If a member has been nice or helpful then I would give them good rep. If say, someone junk posts, is mean to other members or is a spammer, I would give them bad rep. I think it would be a nice addition to the forum.
I'm not sure if it can be done. Or whether you even have access to the people or person who designed the site. But I have seen on some boards an icon like the "Report Bad Post" icon, except it is to give props to posters for good posts. If that can be done, if the site can be modified and only select people(present Guru Members) allowed to give props like the warnings function, then when a new member gets a certain amount of "good post points"(props points) then they can apply. They won't know when they are elligable, or how many props points they have. But maybe Mickey can send them a PM and tell them they are elligible and explain to them what it is and if they are interested then they can apply.
i think it sounds like a good idea, but you have to think will everyone use it responsibly. It's kind of like the change others custom title reward we have here. A lot of people use it the way it's supposed to be used, but some misuse the power and ruin it for everyone else. Just something to think about.

What mis-use? the only problem I recall is Chris gettin' his panties in a bunch when some one change his. That's just his inmaturity. I belive the vast majority of the regulars here can opperate this function with no problems.
