its plugged in the card is still working...it just overheats if i dont have my portable fan on it, where can i get it

any computer store should carry thermal paste. if the fan still works, it'll need to be fsastened to the card to keep it from over heating. Id stop using the puter til you do, or you card will die pretty quickly

its the fan thats ATTACHED to the video card..as i said in the post, the one that cools down the card, not the processor fan

If the fan fell out of the heatsink, then just pop the heatsink off and get another to replace it.

And VIDEO CARDs have the fan on the heatsink. They don't nail it into the GPU. If the fan fell out of the heatsink, then replace it. If the heatsink fell off with it, then paste it back on. Or, if you're really adamant about it, you can spend a helluva lot more on a new video card.
