I have a PC, and of course I have various anti-virus programs as well as Zone Alarm. I run scans frequently to keep my PC clean, and I don't click on ANY suspicious pop-ups.

So, yesterday...sometime,somehow, something happened.

I can not open any of my file folders on my desktop. I'll click on My Documents folder, or on random folders containing jpegs, and it just flashes my screen saver and then goes back to my desktop. Sometimes it brings up the "do you want to restore your desktop" button, but that doesn't do anything.

I am able to access the internet from the icon on my desktop, but that seems like the only icon that works.

So I ran a few different virus scanners, found some trojans and worms and cleaned them, but I'm still having the same problem.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thanks....

Zerk

On a more serious note the majority of Trojans don't go away that easily.

I had something similar happen to my pc lately...all programs work fine but certain websites are not working and one of my email accounts in outloook express isn't working. The trojan's have been found and deleted but my pc is still messed up...I've spent a lot of time cleaning out temp files, cleaning out the registry of unused entries andvarious other clean up methods....even using system resotre willl not work(tried that a dozen times to no avail ) I'm still having issues...any way to fix other than a complete f disk?

Sent my PC to the emergency room. It was time to have it wiped clean. It's all good now, running like a champ.

Trojans are a *****. They're like the cancer of PCs. You get one, and cure it, and you go into recession. Comes back after awhile and you gotta go through it again. Once you get em, best bet is to wipe it and start over. just create file backup disks.

The non-infected ones, that is.
