Default Buccs sign Boston!!!!!

From PewterReport.com

Less than one week after he auditioned at One Buccaneer Place, free agent wide receiver David Boston signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Wednesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Boston, who worked out for the Bucs last Thursday, previously played with Arizona, San Diego and Miami.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Boston has hauled in 315 career passes for 4,699 yards (14.9 avg.) and 25 touchdowns since entering the NFL in 1999 as a first-round pick out of Ohio State.

Boston, 27, spent the first four years of his career in Arizona. His best season came in 2001 when he caught a career-high 98 passes for 1,598 yards (16.3 avg.) and eight touchdowns as a Cardinal.

In 2003, Boston signed with the San Diego Chargers. He caught 70 passes for 880 yards (12.6 avg.) and seven touchdowns in 14 regular season games, but that journey turned into a one-year stint after a rift reportedly began between he and Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer.

Boston joined the Miami Dolphins in 2004, but he didn’t see action in a regular season game that season due to a season-ending knee injury he sustained. To make matters worse, Boston was suspended by the NFL for four games for testing positive for steroids in December of 2004.

In 2005, Boston caught just five passes for four yards in five regular season games before suffering a torn left ACL, which ended his season prematurely.

Boston joins an full stable of wide receivers on the Bucs roster, which includes veterans Joey Galloway, Michael Clayton, Ike Hilliard, Edell Shepherd and Mark Jones. The Bucs also have invested four draft picks in wide receivers, Larry Brackins, Paris Warren, J.R. Russell and most recently Maurice Stovall, over the past two years.

To make room for Boston on their offseason roster, the Bucs released first-year WR B.J. Johnson.

I don't know how I feel about this signing. I hope it wasn't for a lot of money.

There's NO WAY it was for a lot of money, it could prove to be a good move if he has anything left...

"IF" he has anything left. The only thing I'm crossing my fingers for is Jon Gruden to resurrect Boston's career like he did Galloway's.

Galloway, a healthy Clayton. Ike hilliard, a rejuvinated Boston, and Maurice Stovall as the cherry on top. Simms a dark horse fantasy hero.

For now, i'm pretty much indifferent about the signing. Any help we can get would be nice. If it doesn't work out, oh well, we tried. Hopefully it was a smart signing $$$-wise. I wouldn't panic if I was one of the younger kids. They still have their work cut out for them, with or without Boston around.

Boston just seems to be a quick fix while the young guys get ready, he isn't going to be threatening anyone other than for a long yardage play here and there.

if he can bounce back from those terrible injuries this could turn into a very good signing.

Was that sarcasm? Or did you mean to say "can" bounce back?

he's got the talent no question, and now he has the coaching too. its all about his attitude and staying healthy. could turn out to be a steal if his mind is right.
