TAMPA - Bucs players report to training camp in nine days, and officials are working hard to make sure the rookies show up on time.
The team has been negotiating with several draft picks, including fourth-round selection Alan Zemaitis. The Bucs presented the cornerback with an offer Thursday.
"We're not too far off," said Blake Baratz, the head of client development for Impact Sports, the organization representing Zemaitis. "I don't suspect any delays in getting [Alan] to training camp on time."
Zemaitis is one of nine players Tampa Bay drafted in April. Davin Joseph, the offensive lineman out of Oklahoma, was selected 23rd overall. Barring unforeseen snags, there shouldn't be any problems signing Joseph.
Since Bruce Allen became the Bucs' general manager in 2004, none of the team's draft picks have held out of training camp.
