It seems a little early in the year to declare a must win game but hey, when has that stopped the local ink sheets from doing so? This game is clearly important as the Buccaneers face off against their yearly nemesis in the New Orleans Saints. The Saints bring a high powered offense that was recently pimp-slapped by the Colts in the over hyped opening game of the 2007 season which certainly will have lodged a chip in their collective shoulder pads. Loaded with weapons, the Saints bring an attacking offense and quick strike capability to RayJay.
Bucs fans, on the other hand, would be OK with 'slow strike' as long as it was something more than a Matt Bryant field goal. Not that we do not appreciate the professionalism and consistency of Mr. Bryant, but we need TD's to win games and help out our defense. At question this week is the health of our starting RB, Carnell Williams, who got his ribs cracked by the helmet of Lofa Tatupu last week in Seattle. He is not the only one that we need to protect this week as Jeff Garcia played with reckless abandon leading to at least 10 minutes that he is probably a little fuzzy about even today. The offense certainly showed signs of life early last week, but a full 60 minutes will be necessary this week as the Colts were merely even with the Saints at the half last week before turning that game into a laugher.
