Titans Other Young QBs Succeed Over Locker

Quote:
Free from context, Titans quarterback Jake Locker is struggling enough on his own.

When you look around and see other young and younger quarterbacks having success, it only makes his second season look worse.

Lockerís led the Titans to a 5-10 overall record (3-7 when heís under center) and they rank 25th in the league in total offense.

So when he looks around and sees rookies Andrew Luck and Russell Wilson in the playoffs, and Robert Griffin III on the verge of the postseason, it just adds to the pressure thatís already there.

Locker was rushed into a starting position, IMHO. He was never expected to start this early... He was a talent that needed to grow under a vet QB (Hass) and eventually take the reins and fly... Take Aaron Rodgers, I honestly don't think he'd be who he is now had he not had time to grow and learn the game at the pro level... The same could have been said of a lot of the younger "flops". I think Matt Leinart could have done some good if given the time, and to this day I think that David Carr's career was over in Houston before it even started, pretty much ruining his career...

The best time to draft a QB is three-four years before you have to... Get a young one and go from there... Mark my words, Colt McCoy will be back and better then ever second time around, now that he's had time to sit for a while and learn what's going on. Weeden is going to take the heat off of him and give his a chance to learn.

I never liked Locker coming out of college, Hasselbeck is way past his good days but I can see why they benched him in favor of Locker
