Titans sign Griffin
By Terry McCormick,
First-round pick Michael Griffin agreed to a contract with the Tennessee Titans late Friday afternoon and should be on the practice field in time for Saturday's workouts.
Griffin, who will play cornerback for the team, missed the opening workout of training camp because the contract was not completed, making him the only one of the Titans' 10 rookie draft choices not available for the first practice of camp.
The Titans might not be through adding to the roster, as Coach Jeff Fisher said the team had discussed the possibility of bringing former Tampa Bay Bucs defensive end Simeon Rice in for a workout. Rice was released Thursday by the Buccaneers, partly because of a shoulder injury and partly because of a hefty salary.
