How do you think a 3-4 would work for the Titans?
With the addition of Chris Hope and Thornton, do you guys think the Titans could play a 3-4 on some passing downs to get some of those speedy LBs cutting off the short routs? The name of the game is R-U-N on D, and we are week on the edge! If we can cut the inside stuff out, we can force the opposition to be a little bit more predictable with thier deep routes, where we have some HOPE (LOL) of safety help this year!!
I know they won't do it, but it seems more logical than going zone against QBs like Manning?!? Doesn't it?

i never liked the 3-4, but... in your case you have Big Dlinemen like starks & vanden bosch
bulluck & thornton on the edge, hmm... yeah I think it'd be better

I haven't heard if Shwartz is planning any scheme changes this season, but that would be a good one!! I heard the blueprint that Pittsburgh was using to stop Manning was something like I described above, so we need to try something!!

I think we have good players built for the 3-4...but we are very very weak at MLB and Sirmon has already had to convert to MLB from the outside and Terna Nande would have to play MLB as well. So I dont think we should.

I personally like the 3-4, it gives the deception because you dont know where the 4th rusher is coming from

Not a Blitzing Safety, It looks like:
Hope as NO career sacks!
He looks excellent, but not much of a threat to
blitz from his position!

Professor, it looks like this Rook will be our starting LB even over Sirmon:
Stephen Tulloch
OLB | (5'10", 214, 4.86) | NORTH CAROLINA ST
Scouts Grade: 48 Selected by: Tennessee Titans
Round: 4
Pick (Overall): 19(116)
Strengths: Is an instinctive, quick and aggressive WLB. At his best when protected. Shows very good initial quickness, balance and body control. Takes solid angles and shows some closing burst to the ball carrier. Has good upper-body power for his size and shows good initial pop at the POA as a tackler. He wraps up in space and does a good job of playing under control. He shows good initial burst and instincts as a pass rusher. Shows adequate range in zone coverage. Does a good job of reading QB's eyes and plays with good discipline in zone. Shows some versatility as a possible WLB and/or ILB in the NFL. Also has the right mental makeup and tackling skills to excel on special teams in the NFL. A young prospect; will be just 21 years old when drafted. Also has been durable.
Weaknesses: Is short and lacks ideal bulk. Will get engulfed by bigger blockers at the POA. Needs to be in space to be effective. Lacks elite speed and will struggle to overcome his lack of size in the NFL as easily as he did in college. Must improve his lower body strength and hand usage in order to more effectively get off of blocks. Lack of ideal size and top-end speed will limit him in terms of some man-to-man matchups in coverage at the next level. Does not show great ball skills in coverage. Lacks ideal playing experience and may suffer through a bigger learning curve than most other prospects from his class.
Overall: Tulloch played as a reserve in all 12 games as a true freshman in 2003. He started six of the 11 games that he played as a sophomore in 2004 and finished that season with 75 tackles and 14 tackles for loss. He missed 2005 spring workouts after undergoing shoulder surgery in January. Tulloch started all 12 games as a junior in 2005 and finished with 134 tackles, 21 TFL, six sacks and one interception. Tulloch lacks ideal size and possesses just decent top-end speed, but he is a quick, instinctive and tough WLB that emerged as a dynamic playmaker as a junior in 2005 and seems to have his best football still ahead of him. Tulloch has an outside chance of eventually emerging as a starting WLB or ILB in the NFL and he should at least become a versatile backup. Furthermore, he can immediately contribute on special teams. In our opinion, Tulloch is worth selecting in the middle rounds of the 2006 draft.
