The Tennessee Titans signed veteran quarterback Kerry Collins on Monday, finally deciding they need more experience after trading Steve McNair.

Coach Jeff Fisher said Collins already met with offensive coordinator Norm Chow for about an hour and would be in practice Tuesday. Fisher said Billy Volek remains the starter, with rookie Vince Young backing him up while Collins learns the offense.

"Billy's got some competition," Fisher said. "I've spoken with Billy. Billy's not too awfully pleased with it. But that's life in the National Football League."

I feel bad for Volek, he sits behing McNair and waits his turn. Then he finally gets his shot and the Titans draft a QB with the 3rd overall pick and sign a veteran to back him up.

This probably spells the end for Volek with the Titans.

I kinda feel bad to, but you gotta think that Fisher just didnt like what he saw from Volek, although as a general rule, Kerry Collins is never the answer.

I still think Young will be good, even though everyone seems to hate him.

Young has looked better than I thought in preseason. Volek remains the starter but I got a feeling that could change really soon.

Volek will start, Collins doesn't even know the offense and when he does learn it you have to remember Collins sucks. I would rather have Volek than Kerry any day.

Volek is the starter, Young will be brought along slowly, collins is a just in case volek gets hurt guy and they don't have to throw young in thier too fast.
