Young set for return to lineup
Recovers from quad injury, will start against Raiders

By JIM WYATT
Staff Writer

Vince Young's days as an injured spectator appear to be over.

Coach Jeff Fisher said Monday the plan is to start Young on Sunday when the Titans (4-2) face the Oakland Raiders (2-4) at LP Field.

The quarterback, who suffered a strained right quadriceps at Tampa Bay on Oct. 14, sat out Sunday's victory at Houston. Young said it was the first time he missed a game due to an injury.

"It was a very clear-cut decision we had to make,'' Fisher said. "Now we have moved forward and said, 'OK, you have healed up to the point where you can go, so we expect you to take all the reps on the practice field and we'll put this behind you.' ''

While Young continues to undergo treatment, trainers believe rehab and rest have helped. He was limited last week and the staff was careful not to push him during a workout Sunday prior to the game.

"We'll be wise about it, and we'll get him back on the practice field and work him into it,'' Fisher said. "But I think two weeks will be sufficient from a healing standpoint to where he won't re-injure it.''

Kerry Collins threw for 280 yards and made some big plays on the game-winning drive in Houston. Young said he learned from watching the 13th-year pro and interacting with coaches on the sideline.
