Despite the instant availability of Cowboys assistant head coach Tony Sparano as a result of Dallas' playoff loss Sunday, the Dolphins still did not stray Monday from their scheduled coaching search.
The team met with Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz on Monday morning in an interview that concluded just before noon. Schwartz, who also interviewed with the Redskins and the Falcons last week, has since headed home.
''I got into town [Sunday], but I'd rather not talk about the process at this point,'' said Schwartz, who declined further comment Monday.
The Dolphins soon will shift their focus toward a second conversation with Sparano, who first interviewed Jan. 5 with general manager Jeff Ireland in Dallas.
Sparano will likely take a trip to South Florida this week, when he will have the opportunity to meet with owner Wayne Huizenga. It is unknown when that second interview will take place.
