Terry McCormick of the Nashville City Paper reports the Albert Haynesworth tampering incident was back in the news this week with a Yahoo Sports report that the NFL had officially opened an investigation into the matter.
If so, where does that leave the Tennessee Titans in all of this?
Well, officially with no comment on the matter — the same thing that NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told The City Paper during an inquiry about the matter this week.
Indications are that the Titans don’t really have a real desire to push the issue for their own gain. In other words, they’re not expecting to be rewarded with an extra draft pick in the matter, even if it is proven that Washington tampered with Haynesworth, who signed a record-setting $100 million deal with the Redskins just five hours into free agency.
Tennessee still has not filed a written formal complaint in the matter, according to sources, even as the report surfaced of the ‘reopened’ investigation.
Pussies. Why bring it up in the first place, if you're not going to see it through to the end.
I swear this league is becoming more effeminate each passing year - rules handcuffing defenses and the return game; QB's treated like ballerinas; Diva players; crying owners; unaccountable personal conduct.etc,
They do not want to bring it up because more than likely some other team can prove they have done the same thing. Or they do not want to upset Dan Synder with 2010 looking like it might be an uncap year he might decide to buy every Titans player on the market.
