Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club would like to congratulate WR Andre Talbot on being named CFL Canadian Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
Talbot concluded a career-year with a 6-catch, 109-yard, 2 touchdown performance versus Saskatchewan. Talbot helped ignite the Argos' offence on his first touchdown when he caught a pass, tight-roped the sidelines and turned it into a 43-yard major in the first quarter. His second touchdown put the game out of reach for the Roughriders as the Boatmen clinched first place in the CFL East Division for the second time in three seasons.
The Toronto Argonauts would also like to congratulate DE Jonathan Brown and LB Kevin Eiben on being named runners-up for CFL Defensive Player of the Week, and QB Michael Bishop on being named runner-up for CFL Offensive Player of the Week.
Brown helped sustain a constant pass rush on 'Riders QB Kerry Joseph, recording 3 DT and 2 QB sacks while Eiben recorded 1 pass knockdown and 1 fumble recovery which led to an Argos major. Bishop helped orchestrate the Argos greatest offensive output of the year, putting 41 points on the board while passing for a career-high 366 yards and 3 touchdowns on 20 completions.
Bishop, Brown, Eiben and Talbot will suit up for the Argonauts in the 2007 East Final on Sunday, November 18 at Rogers Centre. Tickets are available by calling Ticketmaster at 416-872-5000.
