Dorsey Named Special Teams Player Of The Month For July
At just 5-feet, 7-inches, Argonauts' RB/KR Dominique Dorsey is making a big impact on club and league record books. The eight-time CFL Special Teams Player of the Week has now been named CFL Special Teams Player of the Month for the second time in his career (September 2007).
In the month of July, Dorsey accounted for 665 return yards and averaged a blistering 17.9 yards on all kick returns. The CFL's leader in all-purpose yards entering Week 7 (1,233) averaged 10.9 yards on punt returns, 21.3 yards on kickoff returns and returned two missed field goals for an average of 47 yards last month.
Dorsey's August is also off to a great start having scored his first return touchdown of the season, fourth of his career, last week while being named CFL Special Teams Player of the Week. He is currently on pace to turn in the third-highest single-season combined yards total in CFL history (ahead of Corey Holmes' 3,455 in 2005).
The Argos take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats tonight at Ivor Wynne Stadium but fans can see the Argos in action next at Rogers Centre against division rivals the Montreal Alouettes on Friday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m. Don't be late for the Nissan Tailgate Party on Bremner St. starting at 5:00 p.m.
