Redskins Sign Veteran QB Collins

The Washington Redskins have signed back-up quarterback Todd Collins to a one-year contract, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.

Collins, 34, is an 11-year veteran from Michigan who spent the past five years as a backup in Kansas City to Trent Green, but hasn't seen much action. He did not throw a pass last season and in his five years with the Chiefs has thrown 27 passes.
