Redskins QB Jason Campbell leaves preseason game with knee injury
Saturday, August 18, 2007

LANDOVER, Md. (AP) Washington quarterback Jason Campbell left in the first quarter Saturday night against Pittsburgh because of a bruised knee, and linebacker Marcus Washington departed in the second quarter after dislocating his right elbow.

Campbell was hit flush on the left knee by defensive end Brett Keisel, who beat rookie free agent left tackle Stephon Heyer and stumbled as he kept up his pursuit. Keisel was assessed with a personal foul for a low hit on a quarterback in the pocket.

Campbell, who completed the pass for a 29-yard gain to tight end Chris Cooley, grabbed his knee in pain and remained on the field for a couple of minutes before gingerly limping to the sideline. Campbell walked to the locker room but returned to the sidelines later in the first half with his knee heavily wrapped.

Campbell was replaced by Todd Collins, who is competing with Mark Brunell for the Redskins' No. 2 spot.

I just hope the MRI doesn't reveal anything because he's such a young and good QB.
