Eddie Johnson's tenure with the Washington Redskins lasted exactly one day. Johnson was signed yesterday morning to compete with punter Derrick Frost and released about 6 p.m., two hours after practice was completed.
Before being cut, he said his kicking leg was sore. He later left Redskin Park with ice on his leg. Johnson last kicked in a regular-season game three years ago with Minnesota and had been in the Cincinnati and Jacksonville training camps the last two years.
David Lonie's exit on Monday and Johnson's release yesterday is good news for Frost.
