Default So Far Free Agent signings not doing much

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...100800769.html

excerpt:
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Oct. 8 -- Running back T.J. Duckett was active Sunday for the first time since Week 2, but once again did not get on the field, while wide receiver David Patten was scratched from the lineup.

Duckett, a short-yardage specialist, was acquired from Atlanta in the preseason for the equivalent of a high third-round pick but has appeared in only one game, when he carried five times. Sunday was the second time he was in uniform for a game but never entered it.

Patten was one of the focal points of the Redskins' 2005 offseason, signed from New England as a free agent, but missed much of last season after knee surgery and has just one catch in 2006.

Lloyd Comes Up Empty Again

Wide receiver Brandon Lloyd, who was acquired from San Francisco in the offseason for two draft picks and signed to a long-term contract extension in April, is still looking for his first impact game with the Redskins. Lloyd was held without a catch Sunday and has six catches for 75 yards this season.

Lloyd has yet to catch more than three balls in a game or amass even 50 yards in a game. He was held without a catch for the second time this season and Washington had just 109 passing yards.

"You can't sit there and cry about it and be selfish about it," wide receiver Santana Moss said. "You've got to wait your turn and wait to get that chance. The opportunities today were very slim."

I thought Brandon Lloyd was going to be a good addition for the 'Skins.

more Dan Snyder money wasting. When will he learn that you have to have proper Patriots like personel men in charge and just not spend friviliously on big name talent every year with inflated contracts.

The way that organazation run is just terrible. HOw can you expect just about a new team every year to just gell?

They traded a 3rd round pick for Duckett and he's been active for like 2 games...who does that????

you need cap room in the nfl- regardless if the wrs are the problem or not,you should never be paying 3 recievers that much money. no way. at least not the main 2. randle el cashed in off the sb and is a slot 2 or 3 reciever in a great system which the redskins do not have. no playoffs no point.

It seems only the Redskins.

The real problem isn't the willingness to spend money per se. Willingness to spend is great... if you make good decisions. The Redskins have made awful decisions and it really just comes down to that and nothing else. Give a good decision-maker those deep pockets, kick Vinny Cerrato to the curb, and convince Danny boy Adam Archuleta really isn't going to sell tickets anyway and you're in business.
