We've got to take this one. We've had some tough opponents on the road so far, this one is a must though.

This game isn't a NECESSARY win, but it would be a giant swing in momentum winning two straight, against another play-off hopeful, on the road and keeping our number of conference losses low. The game could go either way, but I think we match up fairly well against Tampa.

with Chris Simms as quarterback This is going to be a tough game for the Buchs. Now I don't think it's going to be a walk in the park for us because the Buch's defense alone presents a challenge, but I don't think Simms can pull a win out of this one and if the buchs are to win it the game is going to be in Simm's hands.
I know you are just wishing for us to lose for your draft pick to be higher lol.

true dat
visited a broncos board the other day...... never seen an AFC message more more pissed off about the skins success this year than an NFC East board
Weird but true: Bucs are 10-7 in games that Greise has started.... 0-7 in games Simms has started

Game-day details
Sun., 4:15 p.m. ET, Raymond James Stadium
Weather forecast from AccuWeather.com:
Partly sunny. High: 83. Low: 62
Why To Watch
Both teams need a victory Sunday to keep pace in their division races. Tampa Bay was the pacesetter in the NFC South early but has lost back-to-back games and needs a win to stick with Carolina. Washington is trying to stay within striking distance of the Giants in the jam-packed NFC East.
The Buccaneers' offense has struggled since quarterback Chris Simms took over for injured Brian Griese. Simms has been sacked 10 times and intercepted four times in two games. Simms' ineffective performance has rendered deep threat Joey Galloway and the Bucs' ball-control passing game ineffective. The Bucs have Carnell Williams and Michael Pittman, but the burden for victory again resides primarily with the touted defense.
The Redskins have made headlines with the Mark Brunell-to-Santana Moss home-run connection, and Clinton Portis is the 11th-ranked rusher in the NFL. The Redskins have found effective red-zone threats in H-back Chris Cooley and fullback Mike Sellers. Washington's defense has been inconsistent, struggling against the run but containing opponents' passing attacks.
Redskins Keys For Success
1. Emphasize the run. The Redskins are most effective when they control the clock and run the ball. Since Joe Gibbs returned to Washington, the Redskins are 9-0 when they run more than they pass. They're 1-13 when forced to pass more than they run. Portis and Ladell Betts will carry the load against Tampa's second-ranked run defense (75.9 yards per game).
2. Spread the field and spread the wealth. When the Redskins throw, Brunell should use multiple receivers. Moss is an elite deep threat, but wide receiver David Patten needs to be involved to divert the safeties' attention. Look for Washington to use three-receiver sets and sometimes four-receiver sets with Cooley in the slot opposite James Thrash. These spread formations should force Tampa to use nickel personnel, pulling a man out of the box and creating more running room for Portis. These formations also create space for Cooley and Sellers to operate in the middle of the field, especially in the red zone and on third down.
3. Pressure Simms. With Simms struggling through his first two starts -- both Tampa losses -- Washington should blitz Simms to add pressure in the pocket and force Simms to move laterally and throw on the run. The Redskins hope to force Simms into turnovers. He has thrown four interceptions, including one that was returned for a touchdown.
Buccaneers Keys For Success
1. Run the ball. With Washington ranking in the bottom third against the run (119.8 yards per game), the Bucs should get their running game back on track. With a lefthanded quarterback, the Bucs should have a natural tendency to run left -- directly at the weak side of the Redskins' defensive line.
2. Throw downfield. If the Bucs successfully run the ball, Washington's linebackers and safeties will become aggressive and present opportunities downfield. The Redskins will bracket Galloway on the perimeter with a cornerback and a safety. That will leave Michael Clayton man-to-man on the opposite side. Rookie tight end Alex Smith, who becomes a big target once he gets behind the linebackers, also could be a factor down the middle.
3. Pressure and confuse Brunell. The Bucs are at their best when they are aggressive with their blitz packages. They will want to pressure Brunell, especially from the outside, making Brunell throw before his receivers can get separation. Brunell can be a capable scrambler, but the Bucs are too fast for him to have much of an impact running the ball.
Injuries at a glance
Redskins injuries
11/10/05 Mark Brunell QB Calf Probable for Week 10
11/8/05 Cornelius Griffin DT Hip Questionable for Week 10
Buccaneers injuries
11/9/05 Michael Clayton WR Knee Questionable for Week 10
11/9/05 Michael Pittman RB Neck/shoulder Questionable for Week 10
10/19/05 Brian Griese QB Knee Out for the season
10/12/05 Ronde Barber CB Knee Out up to 6 weeks
The Bottom Line
Tampa Bay's dominant defense will give Washington problems when the Redskins run the ball. If the Bucs stymie Washington's running game, the advantage will go to the Bucs. But Tampa Bay is struggling on offense with Simms at the helm. Brunell's stability and experience will be the difference in a close game.
Pick: Redskins 20, Buccaneers 17
