I've been asked by reporters whether I'm concerned about our team maintaining its intensity this week against an opponent with a losing record and there's a simple answer: We're playing the Green Bay Packers! That's all you need to know. It doesn't matter what our records are.
The Packers are our biggest rival and they've had our number for quite a few years. As far as we're concerned, we both have the same record and it will be a battle Sunday at Soldier Field. We'll get their best effort this week, I'm sure of it.
We say that it's been a rivalry, but they've dominated the series lately and it's up to us to do something about that. We split with them last year and that was a start, but we haven't beaten them at home since 1993. That's a hard one to take right there.
I know how important the Bears-Packers rivalry is, but I think we've given our fans a little bit more to talk about this season. No matter what happened in years past, you had the Green Bay game and you could often make your season by beating the Packers.
That's just as important this year, but the focus is on a little bit more than just Green Bay. It just so happens that they're next up and we like having them right now in crunch time.
They're our biggest rival, they're a division opponent and they've had our number-we have so many things to get us motivated for this game this week.
