Dont worry. Be happy.
Quote:
Tom Canada's therapy session starts this weekend when he begins his gig saving adventure-tourists from being swallowed up by the rapids as a whitewater raft guide somewhere deep in the jungles of Honduras.
And, by the looks of it, some of his Winnipeg Blue Bombers could use a little R & R as well.
The Bombers gathered for 'garbage bag day' on Tuesday -- that annual ritual at the end of the season where players jam all their possessions in plastic bags. And while there were the usual slaps on the back and parting shots, the pain of Sunday's Grey Cup loss to the Saskatchewan Roughriders was still obvious.
"What I told the team this morning, and it's hard to liken it to this analogy, but it's similar to a funeral," said head coach Doug Berry. "Everybody wants to mourn the loss. That's not what I want them to do. I want them to celebrate the life.
"We had a lot of things to celebrate this year and that's what I want them to leave with this season: feeling all the good things that happened and to be wearing a shirt like I've got on right now (featuring the Grey Cup 2007 logo) and wear it proudly because we certainly accomplished a lot here."
That may have been a tough sell to the troops given the sting of losing the Grey Cup, but there's truth to what the boss says. Two years ago when Berry took over this was a 5-13 squad lacking any sense of pride after having sand kicked in its face for two seasons.
And now...
