Bomber president encouraged by premier's support
WINNIPEG, MB - Winnipeg Blue Bombers President and CEO Lyle Bauer said today that he is encouraged by Manitoba Premier Gary Doer's pledge to work towards building a new stadium for the football club.
Premier Doer told a crowd of about 600 business leaders earlier today that he plans to work with prospective Bomber owner David Asper, the city and the federal government to build a new home for the football franchise.
"The premier has proven himself as a man of vision for the betterment of the life in Manitoba," Bauer said. "It is great to see him taking a leadership role in respect to 'getting it done' and we look forward to working with him to bring this project to fruition.
"As we know, all levels of government have been supportive of these types of initiatives, which have been outstanding successes and have had a significant impact on the quality of life for all Manitobans."
