You just knew some of the defensive players were biting their cheeks after the offence had too often failed to hold up its end of the bargain, wasting their efforts during a four-game losing skid.
After all, it is tough for any defender to play at the top level whenever he is on the field battling much longer than expected.
So, the Blue Bomber defenders were quite thankful that quarterback Ryan Dinwiddie was able to give them some rest during Winnipeg's 32-28 victory over the Calgary Stampeders on Thursday.
