Blue Bombers Sign Armstead
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers signed free agent wide receiver Jason Armstead Wednesday, bolstering the club's special teams unit with the addition of the kick/punt returner.
Armstead, 28, is a former league all-star who was the 2004 East Division nominee for the most outstanding special teams player as a rookie. A five-year CFL veteran, Armstead broke into the league with the Ottawa Renegades before being taken by Saskatchewan in the 2006 dispersal draft. He led the Roughriders with most touchdowns and was second on the team in receiving that season.
The Moss Point, Mississippi native has played also played for Hamilton and Montreal.
