Boston College loses another DB starter

This has not been a good last month or so for Boston College on the attrition front.
The Eagles’ leading rusher has missed the first two games due to a knee issue, and their leading receiver in the opener was lost to a season-ending injury. It was also announced Monday that offensive coordinator Kevin Rogers has decided to take a leave of absence for health reasons.
The other side of the ball, specifically the secondary, hasn’t been spared, either; starting cornerback Donnie Fletcher missed the opener with a back injury and two projected starting safeties — Okechukwu Okoroha (dismissal) and Dominick LeGrande (transfer) — are no longer with the team.
Now, that unit has taken yet another hit.
Head coach Frank Spaziani announced Monday that starting corner C.J. Jones will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury. Jones hurt the knee on the opening kick of BC’s 30-3 loss to UCF Saturday.
The true sophomore will undergo surgery at some point in the future.
Redshirt freshman James McCaffrey is listed behind Jones on BC’s depth chart, and would presumably be first in line to assume the starting job.
Jones played in 12 games as a true freshman last year, and started the opener this season.
