No workout scheduled yet for Chester Pitts

Long time Houston Texans guard Chester Pitts said last month he planned to work out for NFL teams on July 15 and the Vikings are among five teams that had expressed interest according to Tom Pelissero of 1500ESPN.com.
However, according to NFL sources, no workout has been scheduled because Pitts still is recovering from microfracture knee surgery, and the Vikings haven't committed to attending whenever a workout does take place.
That doesn't mean the Vikings aren't interested. Sources confirmed the Vikings have inquired about Pitts, who had started all 114 games in Texans history before injuring the knee on Sept. 20.
But it's always been assumed Pitts, who turned 31 on Saturday, wouldn't sign with any team until just before training camps open at the end of next month. So, until he's fully recovered -- July 15 long has been the target date -- there's no rush to schedule a workout.
Pitts already has visited Detroit, San Francisco and Seattle and last month pegged the Seahawks as the favorite. He told Sirius NFL Radio that Philadelphia and the Vikings also called to inquire.
