Irsay says Colts will keep mum on their talks with Peyton Manning

According to Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star, when asked Wednesday for an update on a possible contract extension for Manning, whose deal expires at the end of the season, Irsay referred to the "cone of silence" that was made popular in the old TV series "Get Smart."
"The 'cone of silence' is going to come down, at least for us," Irsay said. "That's how you get something done. I'm not even sure what the Brady thing is."
Reportedly, the Patriots and Brady are close to agreeing on a three- or four-year extension that would pay Brady between $18 million and $20 million per season.
Irsay has said he's committed to making Manning, the NFL's only four-time MVP and winner the past two seasons, the highest-paid player in the league.
Tom Condon, Manning's agent, declined comment, and Irsay said Manning's contract issue "has been talked about enough."
"Things have a way of working themselves out," Irsay said.
