Dolphins Dolphins lend their facility to English rugby team

Quote:
With NFL practice facilities closed for business until the lockout ends, one NFL team has found a way to get a little use out of its facility: The Miami Dolphins are lending their indoor practice field to Saracens, a visiting English rugby team.

“American Football and rugby have a lot in common,” Saracens chief executive Edward Griffiths told the Guardian. “Not only do we see this trip as a chance to revise, refresh and re-bond with each other but also give us an extra edge when we return to enable us to go one step better this season and finish our campaign as champions.”

The Guardian also reported that Saracens’ coaches “intend to have a full exchange of ideas with the Dolphins’ coaching team, including attack, defence and kicking.”

If you’re wondering what, exactly, Tony Sparano can teach a rugby coach about rugby attack, defence and kicking, the answer is probably nothing. Which is why Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene, who confirmed to the Miami Herald that Saracens is coming to town, downplayed how much contact the rugby team will have with the Dolphins’ coaches.
