Dolphins Dolphins no-name offense will have to spread it around

Quote:
When it comes to offensive weapons, the Dolphins lack name recognition.

But Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel thinks that doesnít necessarily mean they wonít be able to move the ball.

Kelly makes a salient point, that Joe Philbinís offenses in Green Bay were willing and able to spread the ball around to multiple targets, with more than a third of their receptions (130 of 376) coming from backs and tight ends.

The first problem, however, is that the Packers skill-position players are just a lot better than their Dolphins counterparts.

In fact, the law firm of Davone Bess, Brian Hartline and Chad Ochocinco might have a hard time getting on the field if they were Packers.

But the Dolphins biggest problem isnít the names we donít know. Itís the names we do.

David Garrard. Matt Moore. Ryan Tannehill.

Those three quarterbacks, one of whom will have to start the opener, could prove to be the biggest drag on the system.

Garrard has had mixed results in his career when well. Moore has looked good in spurts, but a lot of personnel men around the league think he might be nothing more than a relief pitcher based on his ability to salvage decency when not much is expected of him in August. And Tannehillís a rookie, a problem that wonít go away soon.

Joe Philbinís proven he can draw Xs and Os with the best of them, but the lack of Jimmies and Joes remains the biggest problem in Miami.
